This authentic artifact is a very large Roman bronze spear-point fragment, circa 2nd century AD Highly collectible. Long, finely worked socketed blade with central ridge. Length: 14 2/5 inches. Metal composition: bronze with natural green patina and light soil encrustations. Fine Roman weapons and military gear are quite rare in any condition. Here we have a choice example of an exceptionally large spear point with the edges still quite sharp. A spear like this brings vividly to life the epic battles of the heroic Roman age. Excellent and very rare example, the edges still quite sharp.
This is a genuine piece of the Roman's Military arsenal - considered the most advanced of its time. The Roman Military provided the strength and tools needed to conquer and develop the vast Roman Empire. The Roman Empire was a unique association of peoples and places such as the Mediterranean World had never seen before. What had been a patchwork of Hellenistic monarchies, independent city-states, and Celtic tribes was miraculously united into one great political entity.
