Great price! Art Deco Frosted Clear Lalique Glass Dish. Lalique French frosted clear glass dish. Signed by hand, created around 1920, designed by R. Lalique. From a rare mold. This piece of Lalique is a signed piece of artwork. Very French, very attractive, and useful for putting all those odd bits of everything on a Coffee Table or dressing table, like rings and pins, etc. Would make a lovely and elegant gift. This Lalique Art Deco dish has a long scratch on it's bottom but could be buff out easily.

Rene' Jules Lalique was a glass designer, renowned for his stunning and perfected use of opalescent glass, which he used to create figurines, plates, bowls, vases, chandeliers, perfume bottles and car mascots. By 1890, Lalique was recognized as one of France's foremost Art Nouveau jewelery designers; creating innovative pieces for Samuel Bing's new Paris shop, La Maison de l'Art Nouveau. He went on to be one of the most famous in his field, his name being synonymous with creativity and quality. In the 1920s, he became famous for his work in the Art Deco style. His glass production was quite extensive and varied ranging from car mascots (radiator caps), clocks, mirrors, perfume bottles and wonderful decorative vases. Lalique created over 250 different perfume bottles for Coty, Worth, Forvil, Houbigant and many other French perfumers. Lalique made clear, frosted, and colored glass in grey, amber, yellow, green, blue, black and plum. Rene' Lalique, who died in 1945, was famous for the beautiful glass he made from the 1890's to 1940. Lalique's firm is still active to this day.
