This piece that was purchased in an estate in Upstate New York in 2009. The rug has Beautiful Triangular medallions throughout the entire field and highly stylized palmettes repeat in staggered array across the field of this stridently abstract antique Bakhtiari from Persia. You can shop around and you will not find anything else like this in the Rug World in this condition and age. All interior designers are welcome to try this on approval for 3 days upon arrival. The Bakhtiari captured Teheran under the Haft Lang khan Sardar Assad and played a significant role in constitutional reform and the abdication of Mohammad Ali Shah Qajar (r. 1907-1909) in 1909, after which he was exiled to Russia. Reza Shah Pahlevi (r. 1925-1941) attempted to destroy the Bakhtiari though he was scared by their power.
