This 9 x 12 in. oil on canvas painting was inspired by a trip from Dallas to Austin. The representational style conveys the vast Texas landscape. Complimenting each other in shape and form, the trees and clouds add a sence of whimsicality. The complimentary color pallete and halfing the canvas by two gives this painting strong contrast. The fractured space with clouds and ribbon is reminiscent of the 'Drive in Movie' which is so popular in rural Texas, with the ribbon representing the Texas hills.
